Terrific fun at the Folk Fest last night! Thanks to everyone who came in during our ‘late night’ hours. We’re looking forward to the final night of Folk Fest next Thursday (August 25, featuring Cosby Gibson) when we’ll be open 2pm to 9pm.
In the meantime, we’re back to our regularly scheduled hours of noon to 6pm. We will be closed Wednesdays.
Watch for changes in the menu this weekend, including the return of the popular NY Cheese steak sandwich featuring certified biodynamic peppers from Nectar Hills Farm along with their organic, grass-fed, roast beef.
We won’t be serving breakfast today, but the organic, fair-trade espresso milkshakes are back!
We’ve added two items to the menu:
Baked Mac and Cheese: with organic veggie radiatori pasta, local veggies, and homemade New York cheese sauce, topped with Nectar Hills Farm organic, grass-fed, wagyu beef chorizo $9. No chorizo: $8.
Organic, local greens w/ mushroom medley, $4.
Local Eggplant Parmesan: breaded with Heidelberg bread crumbs, topped w/ Galbani mozzarella, Parm, and house marinara, $7.
Tomorrow, Friday, August 19, we return to our regular hours of noon to 6pm. For now, we plan to be closed Wednesday, August 24. We will be open for the final Cherry Valley Folk Fest concert, Thursday, August 25, from 2pm to 9pm.
We will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17th from noon to 6pm. On Thursday, August 18th, we will be open 2pm to 9pm, for the Cherry Valley Folk Fest for Food, which is right across the street from us.
After that, we will be open every day from noon to 6 pm until further notice.
If all goes well, our organic and local takeout food restaurant will be open next week, in historic Cherry Valley New York, between Cooperstown and Sharon Springs.
We’re putting the finishing touches on everything now (although we will probably never actually be finished) and plan to open next week–gradually–starting Monday, August 8th.
We’ll have meatball subs made with organic, local, grass-fed, wagyu beef from Nectar Hills Farm, organic grass-fed beef bone broth (from the same young bull of wagyu beef), roast organic free-range chicken, organic & local garlic greens, organic pasta and grains, organic & fair trade coffee and tea, organic lavender lemonade, and other assorted organic and local treats.
We’ll post our full takeout food menu as soon as we finalize it.
Organic and Local Takeout Food Doesn’t Happen By Magic
Thanks to our graphic designer Harriet Spear for the wonderful window sign, stickers, business cards, and all our other graphics. Thanks to photographer Mark Reinertson for his photograph of Nectar Hills Farm which now graces our front window and the top of this site. Thanks also to Derrick Marshfield for being a great all around handyman and construction advisor.
And finally, we thank all our crowd-funders who bought shares! We couldn’t have done it without you. Every share we sold took us one small step in the right direction.
Equity shares in the LLC are still available. Find out more on the get involved page. Shares are $100, represent 0.1% of the company, and will be repurchased over five years while you continue to get your share of the net profits every year until we’ve purchased them all back.
Robin will also have biscotti and coffee (earlier), as well as coleslaw, iced tea, and other drinks. The subs will be served as soon as the freshly-baked Heidelberg bread arrives (around 10:30 am).
